Change Your Skincare Routine For The Seasons

The seasons are always changing and that means your skin needs different treatments to keep it healthy. In the winter, you may need more moisture in your moisturizer and less hydration during the summer. Follow these tips to ensure your skin remains healthy all year long:

Fall

  • Use a moisturizer that is specifically for dry skin.

  • Apply SPF 15 or higher sunscreen every morning, and reapply after you're outdoors. This will help protect your skin from sun damage, which can lead to wrinkles and age spots.

  • Look for moisturizers with antioxidants like vitamin C or green tea extract, which helps fight free radicals that cause premature aging. If you want something more potent than a basic SPF-and-moisturizer combo, look for an anti-aging cream that has retinol (a form of vitamin A) in it--it's proven to boost collagen production and reduce fine lines over time!

  • If possible, choose fragrance free products so as not to irritate sensitive skin on your face; if there is any fragrance added at all make sure it's natural rather than synthetic because those tend not only smell nicer but also don't irritate as easily as synthetics do when applied directly onto our faces where they can get trapped beneath our noses/lips etc., causing irritation upon inhalation later down the road."

Winter

Winter is the season for dry skin. The cold weather, harsh winds, and indoor heating all contribute to dehydrated and flaky skin. To combat this problem: use a moisturizer with SPF (like this one). A good sunscreen will help protect your skin from harmful UV rays that can cause sunburns or wrinkles over time. It'll also prevent premature aging of the skin in general!

Hyaluronic acid--a naturally occurring substance found in our bodies--is great for moisturizing because it attracts water like a magnet does paper clips (or something like that). If you want to give your face a boost of hyaluronic acid during these chilly months when humidity levels are low, try adding it into your skincare routine with this serum from Drunk Elephant ($48). You can also try out some other serums containing hyaluronic acid; they'll work just as well at hydrating without breaking the bank like Drunk Elephant's version might do if you're not careful about applying only small amounts at once.*

Retinol is another ingredient that helps prevent wrinkles by reducing inflammation around pore areas such as cheeks where there might otherwise be redness due  to irritation caused by lack of moisture or poor hygiene practices (which could lead people who don't know better think their face looks bad when really there's nothing wrong except maybe needing more sleep). Retinol also increases cell turnover rate so dead cells won't stick around longer than necessary before being sloughed off naturally instead

Spring

Spring is a great time to change your skincare routine. The weather is getting warmer, so it's the perfect time to start using a face mask and toner. If you haven't already started incorporating these products into your beauty routine, now is the best time to do so.

You can also try out serums and other skin-care products that aren't as heavy on the skin as they would be during winter months when our faces tend to get dryer from indoor heating systems and cold weather outside.

Be sure to wash your face with warm water, not cold, before you apply your moisturizer.

The best time to cleanse your face is right before you apply moisturizer. This will ensure that the pores are open and ready for the next step in your skincare routine.

Warm water opens pores, which allows them to receive moisture from other products more easily. Cold water closes them, making it difficult for natural oils and other ingredients in your skin care products to penetrate deeply enough into the skin for them to work effectively. Warm water also helps open up those little holes so they don't get clogged up with dirt or bacteria--which can lead not only to breakouts but also irritation when you're trying something new (like switching out one type of cleanser for another). Finally, warm water reduces redness and swelling due simply because it's less harsh than cold!

I hope this article has given you some good tips on how to change your skincare routine for each season.
