Your favorite high-end skincare picks

Whether you're splurging on your own skin or getting ready for the holidays, you might be looking to treat yourself to some high-end skincare. There are many brands to choose from, but we've rounded up some of our favorites here so that you can find the best one for your needs.

Platinum Eye Serum

Platinum Eye Serum is a moisturizing eye serum that also helps reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. It can be used in the morning and at night, but it's best to apply it to clean skin before applying your makeup. The formula is lightweight, non-greasy and absorbs quickly--so you won't have any smudges on your face while applying foundation or powder!

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is a gel-based cleanser that's gentle on all skin types. It removes makeup well and leaves your face feeling clean, but not tight or dry. The best part about this product is the value--for only $18 you get a full-size bottle (1 oz) of product!

The smell of this cleanser reminds me of soap from my childhood, which I loved then and still love now because it makes me feel like I'm being pampered at home instead of going to a spa or salon where they'd probably use something different that smells like flowers instead.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum

This is a great product for anyone who wants to do everything they can to keep their skin looking young and healthy. It's packed with antioxidants and has been clinically proven to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, discoloration and fine lines.

It's also really easy to use: just apply it in the morning after you've cleansed your face. You can use it under makeup or as part of your skincare routine before bedtime--it doesn't matter which time works best for you!

And finally...the price tag: $80 bucks per ounce (the same price as our next pick). So if you're willing to splurge on yourself once in awhile but don't want something outrageously expensive then this is definitely worth checking out!

Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment Lactic Acid Exfoliating Serum

Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment Lactic Acid Exfoliating Serum is a product that anyone can use, regardless of their skin type. It brightens and clarifies the complexion while also exfoliating, moisturizing and hydrating it. This serum is good for acne-prone or sensitive skin because it helps with hyperpigmentation and scarring. The best part? You only need to use this one time per week!

Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment

  • Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment

This product is a gel that contains salicylic acid and tea tree oil, which are both common ingredients in skincare products for acne prone skin. It's non-comedogenic, so it won't clog pores and cause breakouts if you have sensitive skin. You can use this on your face, chest, or back--it's safe for all areas of the body! I love how easy it is to apply; just pat some onto a cotton pad or brush (they make special ones) and swipe across wherever you want to treat an acne breakout. The smell isn't too strong either--it smells kind of like minty toothpaste (in my opinion).

Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Brightening and Smoothing Moisturizer SPF 30

This is a good moisturizer for dry skin because it's lightweight, absorbs quickly and has a pleasant fragrance. It also has SPF 30 which is important to protect your skin from UV rays that can cause premature aging. There are many antioxidants in this product including vitamin C and E which help prevent wrinkles by boosting collagen production in the skin.

High-end skincare can be worth it.

High-end skincare can be worth it.

Yes, it's true: there are some great products out there that are pricier than their drugstore counterparts. But if you think about what you're paying for, it's not as crazy as it might seem at first glance. You're paying for high-quality ingredients and formulas that have been tested by dermatologists and proven effective time and time again--and sometimes those expensive formulas actually work better than their less expensive counterparts!

If you want to invest in a good moisturizer or serum (or both), try finding one made by a brand that has been around for awhile--one with a reputation for making quality pharmaceuticals instead of just slapping on fancy packaging and calling themselves "natural" or "organic." Then look up reviews from other people who use the product; this way you'll know if others have had success with similar skin types as yours before committing any money to buying something yourself!

I hope this post has helped you decide whether or not high-end skincare is worth the price. If it is, I encourage you to try some of these products! They're all great and have helped me so much with my acne and hyperpigmentation concerns.
