PLATINUM DELUXE: SKINCARE MISTAKE & HOW TO FIX THEM

If you want to take your skincare routine up a notch, then you'll need to make sure that you're not making these skincare mistakes.

1. NOT CLEANING YOUR FACE TWICE A DAY

The first mistake is one of the easiest to fix: not cleaning your face twice a day. This skincare mistake might seem innocent at first but it can lead to breakouts and an uneven skin tone. So never forget step one!

2. NOT WEARING SUNSCREEN

Another mistake that many people make is using sunblock only when they're outside or preparing to go out in the sun. While this might be true for some people, most dermatologists recommend applying sunscreen every day because as long as UV rays are present somewhere in the world, we will be exposed no matter what we do or where we go.

3. NOT WASHING THE PILLOWCASE FREQUENTLY

Another major skincare mistake is not washing the pillowcase frequently enough. When you sleep on your pillow at night it can often become polluted with oils and dirt from your face so if you don't wash it regularly, this build up can cause breakouts or clogged pores. Remember to change the pillowcase at least once every two weeks.

4. NOT SEPARATING BODY AND FACE TOWEL

Skincare mistakes happen to the best of us. Whether it's from following the trend or just not being careful with your regimen, we all make mistakes. However, if you avoid these three common skin care blunders, you'll be on track to finally having healthy and radiant skin for good! Here's how:

-

5. BLINDLY FOLLOWING THE TREND

Never blindly follow the skincare trend, whether it's an ingredient or a radical new skincare method. Doing so will exhaust your wallet and even worse, your skin ! Skincare mistakes come and go but you'll only be able to reap the benefits if it's suited for you and your skin type.

6.  BLINDLY FOLLOWING SKINCARE DIYS

Lastly, if you see a popular blogger or vlogger doing some crazy elaborate skincare routine, don't copy them! Your skin is unique and exclusive to YOU . If you don't know how your skin will react to a certain skincare item, then perhaps it's best left for your personal use and for convenience only.

7. NOT GETTING MOISTURIZER

Having a routine is key to truly achieving healthy and radiant skin but that doesn't mean you should skip on moisturization . Everyone has different needs when it comes to skincare so you can never be too sure if it's going to work for your particular needs. If your skin is dry, applying moisturizer is super important to add a layer of hydration and protection for your skin. Our rule of thumb? If you're unsure of a particular skincare product, apply moisturizer before.

8. OVER-EXFOLIATING YOUR SKIN IS SKINCARE MISTAKE

When using an exfoliant every day, it’s easy to believe that by rubbing more and more into your skin, you will see better results faster. If you do this too often, though, you risk damaging the healthy skin cells and end up with overly dry or irritated skin. Stop over-exfoliating now

9. LAYERING YOUR SKINCARE THE WRONG WAY

Putting on moisturizer before your sunscreen may seem like a good idea in theory but in reality it only leaves your sunscreen vulnerable to circulating oils that can break it down quicker and absorb less of the sun's harmful UV rays. Instead, apply moisturizer right after your sunscreen.

10. CONSTANTLY TOUCHING YOUR FACE

Touching your face is a habit that you may not even realize you have but it makes a huge difference to how healthy your skin looks. Constantly touching your face (and especially when using makeup) can spread bacteria and cause breakouts, so try to avoid doing it as much as possible.

11. RUBBING THE PRODUCTS HARSHLY INTO THE SKIN:

All too frequently, I see people rubbing their products harshly into their skin, not taking the time to gently massage the products into their skin. The skins natural barrier can be damaged by too much hard rubbing, causing damage and a higher risk of acne. Instead, take your time to gently massage the product into your skin using circular motions.
