How to Find Your Beauty Style
How to Find Your Beauty Style
Finding your beauty style can be a scary and confusing process at first. You're not really sure where to start, and you might think that finding something you love is impossible. But if you have an idea of what makes other women happy, and a few pieces of clothing in your wardrobe that make you feel good when they're on your body, then there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to find your own personal style!
Figure out what you're thinking about.
It's important to be honest with yourself.
If you're thinking of how someone else might see your beauty style, try writing down what they would say instead. You may find that this changes the way that you feel about your particular look and can help guide how to move forward with it.
It's okay if there are different thoughts going on in your head at once! The point of this exercise is not necessarily finding something specific but rather seeing what comes up when we start looking at ourselves from other people's perspectives and then returning our focus back home where it belongs—to ourselves.
Take a look at how you feel.

What do you like to do when not working? What activities make your happy and relaxed, energized, or inspired? These are the things that will help shape your beauty style.
Go through your wardrobe (and buy more clothes).
Once you've figured out what your beauty style is, it's time to consider how much room there is in your closet. You need to give yourself permission to make changes and start buying new things.

Go through your wardrobe (and buy more clothes).
-
Investigate whether or not any of the items in there fit well and feel comfortable. If they don't, throw them away!
-
Find some items that are a good representation of who you are as a person—things like socks, t-shirts and underwear can be fun ways for people who want a little bit more personality than "librarian" or "businesswoman." But if no one else will see those clothes but you, then why would someone want either?
Look at photos of yourself from throughout the years.
There's nothing like looking at photos from throughout your life to see how much you've changed. Look at how your hair and makeup have changed over the years, or look at how you have dressed and accessorized yourself in those same years.
You may be surprised by what you see—or maybe not! The important thing is that you take notice of these changes and decide if they're things that are important to keep with you as a person or if they aren't worth keeping up with anymore.
Curate your favorite pieces.

Keep the things you love, and get rid of the things you don't. If a piece doesn't fit your style or make-up routine, don't keep it around for long—it's time to let it go! Your closet should be filled with pieces that make you feel good about yourself and look amazing in photos. Don’t worry about what other people think; instead, focus on what makes YOU happy!
Finding your beauty style is about self-reflection, and starting small to find the things that make you happy.
You have to be honest with yourself. If you haven't done this yet, I highly recommend it. What makes you happy? What do you want to wear? How do others perceive your style?
It's not always easy to find your style. As soon as we start wearing something new, we're worried that someone will laugh at us or judge us for having no idea where they came from (or what they even mean). But don't worry! It's all worth it in the end when we discover a piece of clothing or accessory that makes our heart sing!
Don't be afraid to try new things—even if someone else tells you they won't like something on your body part(s). If they don't say anything negative about what's going on inside their head while looking at yours...then there must be nothing wrong with either one of those two parts being together!
The beauty world is full of great products and trends, but finding your own style is about more than just trying new things. It’s about learning to love yourself—and finding ways to express that love through the things you wear. The best thing about this process is that it doesn’t have to take long! With some time investment, you can discover what works best for your skin type and personality, whether it be classic or edgy; casual or formal; or anything in between. If searching for clothing isn’t something you think will work for your lifestyle (or if you simply don't want to spend money on clothes), try looking into makeup instead: there's plenty available at every price point so no one should feel left out!
